Meet Kyle Vickers, a Lieutenant at the Truckee Police Department!

How Kyle Serves Truckee:
As Support Services Division Commander, Lieutenant Vickers oversees Investigations, Records, Property & Evidence, Recruitment, Training, Policy Management, and Professional Standards, ensuring Truckee PD runs efficiently. He has served Truckee PD since 2012, with prior law enforcement experience at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps. He holds a Master’s Degree in Management & Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency & Disaster Management.

Fun Facts About Kyle:
• Kyle loves camping, fishing, and trapshooting in his free time!

🚔 Ever wonder who the faces are behind the Truckee Police Department? We’re excited to introduce our "Who We Are Wednesdays" series, where we’ll be highlighting the incredible individuals who serve and protect our community every day. From officers on patrol to support staff, each team member plays a vital role in keeping Truckee safe. Stay tuned as we share their stories. 🚔

First up… Meet Brittany Johanson, Support Services Supervisor at the Truckee Police Department!

How Brittany Serves Truckee:
Brittany started her journey at Truckee PD after spotting a job posting for a Records Assistant position—what seemed like a fun opportunity at the time turned into a fulfilling career! A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California in 2016, she now has two years of experience as a supervisor, overseeing a dynamic team managing Records, Property & Evidence, and Parking operations. Her role includes reviewing police reports, coordinating officer training, handling Public Records Act requests, conducting audits, and continuously improving support services for officers, staff, and the community.

Fun Facts About Brittany:
👉 Brittany became a Truckee resident in 2023; she and her husband are recipients of a Truckee Housing Assistance Program (THAP) grant. She is so grateful to now live in the community she serves!
👉 Brittany can understand, speak, and write conversational Japanese. She is looking forward to finally returning to the country in November 2025 (and enjoying some authentic sushi).
👉 When she’s not working, you can find Brittany hosting weekly RPG nights with her friends, reading the latest horror novel, or cuddling with her fur babies, Leo and Yoda.
