Our goal is to keep pets in homes. The human–animal bond has mental, emotional, and physical benefits for both pets and people.
Owner Surrender
Surrendering your pet should be a last resort. Before you surrender your pet to a local animal shelter, consider other options that are available to help you keep your pet. Even the best shelters are stressful for animals and cannot replace a home environment. Private rehoming leaves more shelter resources available to animals with no other options- stray, abandoned or suffering from neglect.
The Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe is located at 10961 Stevens Lane and is here to help, call them at (530) 587-5948.
